It looks like our airport survived the "Ike Attack" with just some light sheet metal damage to a couple of our buildings and a day or so without power. Most of the airplanes were tucked away in their hangars, and the one we had tied down outside rode out the wild winds without any trauma...

Aside from weathering the storm, we've got a few other things going on...

Sandy's Place, our airport restaurant, is now open on Sundays, offering a Chicken Buffet...from 10:30 AM 'till 3:00 PM. Sandy, Tony, and their friends are really cranking out some effort to make Sandy's Place a success (AND making our Ramp really smell like Sunday Morning as they fry their chicken!), so come on down and have some chicken as you check out the view across the airport.

Sandy's Place Hours:

Monday-Thursday.............8:00 AM 'till 3:00 PM

Catfish Friday!!!!..........8:00 AM 'till 9:00 PM

Cape Air Charter has a new Flight Instructor, Jonathan Welter. Jonathan can get you on your way to a private pilot's license, take you on an aerial tour of our local area, and is also fearless enough to help you investigate Crop Circles or UFO Landing Sites...if that's your particular thing! Be for-warned that all Airborne UFO Detection Devices (AUDD) must be pre-approved by the FAA before they're allowed in the aircraft!

Jonathan joins the current staff of Cape Air Charter instructors...Beverly Cleair and Larry Causey...who have been providing flight instruction from private through instrument and commercial ratings.

Cape Air Charter has two training aircraft: A G-1000 Cessna 172 Skyhawk...and that classic and faithful work-horse...a Cessna 150 Commuter.

When he's not flying people to assorted destinations around the country in his limousine-like PC-12, Bill Beard (The President of C.A.C.) is also working to add another Cessna 172 to his stable, so the training and rental choices are expanding!

The Cape Pilots Club is selling raffle tickets for a great oil painting of our A-4 Skyhawk! This is a one-of-a-kind creation by Mary Russel, and it's beautiful! (See it in "Your Photos") We've got it in our office display case here at Cape Aviation, so come by, check it out in person, AND buy some tickets! Everybody is packing tickets or knows someone who is.

Tickets: 1 for $5:00...or...3 for $10:00

The drawing is scheduled for October 11th, so you've still got some time left.

That's about the whole deal for now...
