Do you currently hold the office for which you are running? No

What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?

I was born and raised in Southeast Missouri and after serving my country for 22 years in the US Navy, I returned home to raise my children in a community that I know and love. I held various leadership positions throughout my Navy career which I believe have prepared me to serve the community in this capacity.

What do you believe is the greatest challenge facing your school district?

I believe the greatest challenge for all our schools is continuing to change and adapt our education system to match the changing economy and jobs market so that our children are fully prepared to enter either college or the workforce after graduating high school. Our most important role is developing the next generation to be productive and successful members of society.

If elected, do you have any plans for improving the school district?

I believe the first job of any elected official is to listen and learn, and then to engage parents, staff, and the community in developing solutions. I do believe that student success is highly attributable to parent involvement so I would love to find ways to engage our parents and community more.
