Cape Central Junior High School students excelled at the Universal Dance Association camp held at Southeast Missouri State University in June. The event qualified the team to compete at Nationals in Florida, and produced two All-Americans: Mariah Taylor (8th grade) and Ta'Liyah Thompson (7th grade).

The team received 30 First-Place ribbons, 7 Second-Place ribbons, First-Place in Division and the Superior Trophy for high scores. Pictured are several happy members of the team.

The dance team consists of 8th graders Mariah Taylor (Captain), Lauren Kimberly, Brittany Smith, Megan Stafford, Megan Sheeley, Megan Saylor, and Kaitlyn Lukefahr; 7th graders Elizabeth Orr, Olivia Priest, Mystica Estraca, Ta'Liyah Thompson, Tara Hester and Kunita Williams.

The team is coached by Head Coach Mrs. Michal Whitehorn and Asst. Coach Ms. Leslie Pourney. This is the second year that the CJHS Dance Team has gone to camp.
