4-H Rodeo Finals were held on August 23rd in Fredericktown, MO with over 200 4-H members from 9 surrounding counties competing for buckles, saddles and year-end awards. The members may compete in four events and accumulate points throughout the season. Individual awards are given for the top ten contestants in each age category for each individual event and also for the Sr. All Around and Reserve Champion and the Jr. All Around and Reserve Champion. Several Cape County members received buckles and medallions along with special awards such as: Mackenzie Gas- Jr. All Around Champion and Jr. Ambassador, Micayla Gray- Sportsmanship Award and Best Project Book, Sara Hoffman- Most Improved, Devon Beard --Sr Ambassador. Scott County Rodeo Club won "Club of the Year" and Lee Roach of Butler County received "Leader of the Year." For more information about joining 4-H rodeo, contact the Extension office at 243-3581.
