19th ANNUAL MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY SCENIC DRIVE

The rural communities of southeast Missouri invite everyone to join them on the weekend of April 25-26 as they celebrate the delightful arrival of SPRING!!!

There will be good food, folk music, crafts, good food, camping, living history, museum tours, good food, and the beauty of the Missouri country side. Visitors on the self-conducted driving tour can expect to see dogwoods, azaleas, redbuds, historic quilts, historic aprons, wineries, historic churches, dinosaurs, Mississippi riverfront landings, log cabins, antique collections and community wide garage sales. There will be opportunities to sample and purchase fresh baked bread from outdoor ovens, and chances to enjoy cornbread and beans, and stew cooked out of doors in cast iron pots.

Drive along the Mississippi from Commerce on the south, to Brazeau on the north, and then head west to Marble Hill and Marquand where there are sure to be friendly people. End the drive with a superb church supper in Pocahontas followed by a gaslight sing at Apple Creek Presbyterian church, one of the oldest Protestant churches west of the Mississippil.

For 19 years residents of the region have welcomed visitors to their communities on the fourth weekend of April. Everyone is invited to share in the green beauty of spring in southeast Missouri.
