PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. John J. Bagen, 78, of Perryville, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1992, at Perry County Hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Chicago, son of John J. and Barbara L. Ryan Bagen. Bagen was ordained June 4, 1939, at St. Mary's Seminary here. He served at major seminaries in the Midwest, and at DePaul University in Chicago...

Gamma Sigma Sigma service sorority will sell long stemmed red roses for Valentine's Day as part of an effort to raise $9,000 for March of Dimes. The organization hopes to raise a "Mile of Dimes" by mid-April. Orders are now being taken for the roses, which will be sold by the dozen. The city of Cape Girardeau has taken action to keep the costs of its police department from going through the roof. By today, the department should have a new roof this time with insulation under it.
