Jefferson City, July 2 -- Two Southeast Missourians, a Republican of Perry County and a Democrat of Cape Girardeau County, were among the quartet who refused to sanction the franchise for women.
The House ratified the federal woman suffrage amendment by a vote of 125-4, passing the resolution without any oratory.
The representatives who voted against suffrage were Gibboney Houck of Cape Girardeau and Thomas Shepard of Jackson County, Democrats, and George J. Meeker of Perry County and Milton Moss of Jefferson County, Republicans. The entire St. Louis delegation voted for suffrage...

Powder Puff Pilots Laud Girardeans' Hospitality
Air traffic of participants in the Powder Puff Derby was a continuous flow Tuesday afternoon as 41 competing airplanes landed at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Airport. The airport here was one of 11 optional stops between the Seattle starting point and the Clearwater, Fla., terminus.
Planes ceased landing here at about 2 p.m. today.
Mrs. Mary Ann Noh, Mission, Kan., landed this morning for a snack and refueling. She has won the race the last two years.
Sixteen additional planes set down in Cape Girardeau today.
The first plane in the derby to land at Clearwater was flown by Mrs. Jean Bonar, a medical librarian from Marsfield, Ohio, and her co-pilot, Mrs. Patricia Colli of Belleville, Ohio. None of the pilots reported any serious problems with planes or equipment...

Settlement reached
A settlement agreement has been reached by Naeter Brothers Publishing Co. and Local 647. International Printing Pressmen and Graphic Communications Union (AFL-CIO) whose members went on strike at The Missourian last Oct. 15.
The agreement came during a hearing here which started on June 10 before Herbert Silberman, National Labor Relations Board administrative law judge. The settlement was approved on June 30 by Judge Silberman.
Silberman directed that charges filed by the union be withdrawn and that the complaint against the company be dismissed.
Seven of the union members had returned to jobs at The Missourian prior to the agreement...
