In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, sometimes it is easy to lose sight of why we celebrate. Maybe instead of enjoying the Thanksgiving feast with your family, you're plotting a strategy for Black Friday shopping and making a mental menu of what to do with all the leftovers.

But if you take time to relax and spend time for your family, you'll probably enjoy the holiday more. So before everyone starts to settle in to watch football or take a turkey-induced nap, ask your family and other guests to share what they're thankful for this year. You can go around the table, giving each person a chance to speak, or you can do something more fun and interactive with thankful rolls.

Various forms of thankful rolls can be found with a quick Google search, but here's the gist: When your guests arrive, ask them to write what they're thankful for on a slip of paper. Place a slip of paper on a dough wedge (homemade is good but store-bought crescent rolls work great), roll and bake. Pass the rolls around the table, having your guests read what's on their slip aloud.

If you want to make it a little more tidy, surround the paper with tinfoil before rolling it in the dough.

It's a Thanksgiving tradition your family and guests are sure to devour.
