__What is the most important issue facing Scott City Public Schools?__
Any issue that may arise deserves the same level of careful consideration and research as any other. Some will say "Education" while others will say "Safety" and some believe that the standardized test scores are the most important. What i feel is the most important issue can be summed up by saying "The Students" because when you break it down, every decision made is for their benefit and their well grounded future.
__What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?__
I am a parent, local business owner, a proud graduate of this wonderful school and a lifelong member of the community. With my business background, integrity and moral compass, i want to ensure tax-payers that the right decisions will be made for the right reasons based on in-depth research and careful consideration that will benefit the generations to come, while maintaining open communication between students, teachers and parents.
__How do you think the board should move forward with a possible no-tax bond issue? If passed, how should the money be spent?__
In an unsteady economy all avenues to reduce debt while maintaining the ability to give the students the best possible educational environment should be explored. We must also consider the long term consequences that the decisions we make today will have on the future, knowing that both the present and that future will hold us accountable for what we have done in the name of education.
__Do you think the Scott City School District is a good place for teachers to work? Why or why not?__
Our district is a great place to work. We are on the path to the future and have retained the "small town" heart. We are constantly advancing with new techniques to keep pace with a rapidly changing world. I would like to see our teachers pay scales remain competitive to ensure we have the most qualified teachers in place, that are willing to lead by example and be positive influences for our children.
