__What is the most important issue facing Perryville Public Schools? What can be done about it?__

The most important issue is to improve the quality of education. We need to improve our overall MAP assessement scores and accreditation rating. This can be accomplished by identifying the gaps and work with the Superintendent and Faculty to make a clear plan and hold everyone responsible to meet this plan. This plan will also include a continuous improvement plant to eventually put our district as one of the top performers in the state.

__What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?__

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Finance from Missouri State University. 7 years experience serving as a school board member. 20 years experience of Management in business that involves establishing and maintaining budgets, performing cost analysis, negotiating and writing contracts. Currently Vice President of the Board of Directors at United Enterprise. This is a volunteer position which oversees the budget and running of the workshop that provides work for people with special needs.

__Where do you stand on the issue of Common Core standards?__

I am not in favor of the Common Core standards as I think there is too much federal control in the classroom. I am a new candidate for the District 32 School Board so I need to see specifically how this will impact the current curriculum. If change is required we must provide the teachers the time and resources to implement these standards effectively.

__Do you think the Perryville School District is a good place for teachers to work? Why or why not?__

I think Perryville School is an excellent district for teachers to work. The county has a small town feel that deeply cares about each other and strongly supports the school.
