After experiencing her own success with self-hypnosis years ago, Norma Jamerson decided to study hypnosis and nutrition.
With hypnosis, people are in a relaxed state of mind with guided concentration. It is a safe and effective way to make positive lifestyle changes. With hypnosis it's as if the person under hypnosis is the driver and the therapist is the GPS navigation guide. Jamerson conducts her business at Heartland Hypnosis Center, offering hypnotherapy sessions for weight reduction, smoking cessation, stress reduction, improving self-confidence, self-esteem, study habits, memory and sales skills. She also offers help for people struggling with insomnia and other sleeping problems.
"My goal with my new therapy center is to help people release themselves from unhealthy habits and move on to unlock their potential to live their lives to the fullest. I will not make you act like a chicken or quack like a duck, like you might see in a hypnosis stage show, but I can help you stop destructive habits like smoking and overeating," Jamerson said.
Jamerson is a certified hypnotherapist and a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists. She is also a registered respiratory therapist, a registered sleep technologist and has a degree in holistic nutrition. After working in the medical field for 25 years and witnessing the effects of unhealthy lifestyles and habits, she decided to open the Heartland Hypnosis Center and use her medical and clinical skills to help people eliminate many of those problems before they become serious illnesses.
This year, in addition to the private sessions, she plans to teach group sessions for weight loss and smoking cessation and to add classes teaching self-hypnosis.
