__ What is the most important issue facing the Oran School District? What can be done about it?: __

As well as many Districts, Oran School District will be facing budget concerns. Along with state and federal dollar percentages being cut, we will have to be concerned about our budgets. We will have to research possible ways to cut the budget, and or raise incomes. This could be done with enrolling more students, and or looking at tax increases.

__ What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?:__

The experience and leadership values, which I have learned through my various, past offices held, along with the years spent as an umpire, have taught me valuable skills. Being able to communicate with people in a civil manner, and knowing how to listen to both sides of the debate, before making a educated decision, are values needed to be a successful member of any appointed board, who taxpayers have entrusted to represent their school district.

__ Where do you stand on the issue of Common Core standards?:__

What I have researched about Common Core leads me to believe, their is a possibility of god and bad in the standards, which our government wishes to implement to our school districts. Common test standards to all schools is a better way to evaluate, how your school; test compare to other schools. But I am afraid that the government may attempt to change the curriculum, to what they what they want the children to know.

__ Do you think the Oran School District is a good place for teachers to work? Why or why not?:__

I have not heard of any other place our teachers and staff at Oran School District, would want to work. Those who have joined our team from other Districts, have commented, about what a joy it is to work at Oran. They go above day-to-day duties to assist each other. I am proud to have served 3 years as one of their board representatives, and am looking forward to re-election, the public and God willing.
