1. What is the most important issue facing the Oak Ridge School District? The most difficult issue facing Oak Ridge is having to do more with less. A shortage of revenue at the state level has caused cuts in all state programs including education.
2. Funding the increase to the school foundation formula is a point of debate among state politicians. What should the district do to prepare for a potential shortfall in funding? The district remains focused on kids and student achievement. The main obligation of the school district is to provide an education for the district's students. We have a great faculty and staff who continue to focus on education. We have been through tight budget times in the past and survived. The district will be conservative and responsible during this funding issue.
3. What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office? I have served on the school board for the past three years, I have completed 26 hours, with 16 required, for board member training and meetings. I am a 1972 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and my children have and are attending the school.
