Happy "Can't-wear-a-skirt-safely-because-of-the-wind/rains-four-times-a-day" month! Spring has sprung -- a leak!
Does round two of unpredictable weather have you playing ring-around-the thermostat and sticking to online shopping while your boat's in the shop? That's OK, I get it. No judgment, but let's get you aimed in the right direction!
We've been wearing our cozy dark burgundies and holiday-weight camouflaging colors for about as long as we can stomach (see what I did there?), and with or without the cooperation of the weather man, we are determined to get into some of those spring colors.
Hello, powder-pink suede. This is the perfect winter-to-spring compromise! For those of us anxious to get into the spring colors of pink and blue, but not anxious to wear the blue on our lips (brrrr), pink suede is popping up everywhere from shoes and blazers to cross-body bags. Layer it over your new spring sundress, keep those temperature-shy ankles warm with some chunky pink suede booties, or snag yourself a body-hugging Midi pencil skirt. Pair that skirt with a black leather cropped jacket and you're ready for a night out.
Still struggling a little with springing the clock forward? Save yourself some time in the mornings by going with a sassy updo. Besides, let's face it: The wind is going to destroy any strand left unattended, anyway, so use this as an excuse to get creative, and to hit snooze -- again.
How about a "faux-bangs bun?" If you're like me, you always want a drastic change without the drastic commitment, and for those of you ladies with shoulder-length or longer hair, this trick offers you both! With just a few strategically placed bobby pins you're good to go.
Begin as you normally would when styling a topknot bun, but this time leave the ends of your hair out and facing forward. Run your flatiron over the strands to tame them, add some bobby pins where needed, or even a cute scarf for color, and voila !
Try both of these looks at once and blow into spring with confidence.
