What is the most important issue facing the Woodland School District?
Woodland has improved so much over the last five years. We have received A+ Accreditation and were also named one of America's Best High Schools by U.S. News and World Report. We have come a long way but can always stand room for more improvement. All schools have many different issues that face them. I think funding from the state and keeping our teachers for longer lengths of service would have to be some of the most important so that we can continue to improve academically.
What in your education or background makes you qualified for this office?
I am actively involved with Woodland School by serving as the Booster Club president. By holding such a position I assist and organize fundraisers that support things such as MAP rewards, scholarships and many more projects around the school. By being actively involved with the school I see many parents and teachers on a regular basis. I attended Woodland, kindergarten through 12th grade and now my children attend there. The school is very important to me. My personal career requires me to understand detailed policies and programs of the state. I feel this will be beneficial to understand policy and programs that are required of a school board member.
