El Torero means "The Bullfighter."

Daniel Alvarez was just 25 years old when he opened his first business on William Street in Cape Girardeau. Inside his Mexican restaurant, El Torero, Alvarez worked for three years, from open to close seven days a week, supervising seven employees. All of his hard work has paid off in 2010 with plans to open a seventh restaurant location in Southeast Missouri. Alvarez now works mostly behind the scenes.

El Torero, meaning "The Bullfighter," has now provided 17 years of opportunities for casual dining experiences in Mexican-themed restaurants that employ over 80 people.

"We stride to provide great service and great food, and to always keep the business as clean as possible. Only top-quality food products are used for menu items," said Alvarez.
