CPU's cutting-edge payroll service now includes a system that uses a biometric fingerprint-reader time clock for timekeeping service clients. Another new service offered by the company is the option of "Ready Funds" pay cards for the direct deposit of employee payrolls. The company also has plans to start a self-service portal where employees can conveniently log in to view and print payroll information.

On the technical support side, CPU offers technical support for hardware, software and networking, employee benefit services, human resource support and background checking.

Mike Unverferth, the company's director of sales and marketing, wants potential customers to know they will be taken care of if they decide to do business with CPU.

"We are locally owned and operated, and we provide excellent service and support to our clients," Unverferth said.

CPU Inc. is at 320 S. Plaza Way in Cape Girardeau.
