__John Mehner (Pres. & CEO Cape Chamber) operating MAGNET under contract:__ MAGNET is a full-time economic development organization whose partners include Cape County, the cities of Cape Girardeau, Jackson, and Scott City, and the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce.

__JM:__ MAGNET will increase efforts to market our area. We will partner with other economic development groups along the I-55 corridor to maximize resources.

__JM:__ This is a tremendous area to market because of the location and the people.

__JM:__ MAGNET is a true partnership of our five funding organizations who all work very well together.

__What was your biggest success in 2012?__

__JM:__ There were several major expansions announced in 2012. Two very notable ones include a $300 Million expansion by Procter & Gamble and a new facility in Jackson by Mondi.
