Question 1: Technology is changing rapidly and the recorder of deeds office must keep pace. What changes are needed to keep the office up-to-date?

Answer: I believe that much can be done to improve the office of the Recorder of Deeds in regards to technological innovation, accessibility and ease of use. I often wonder why there is no information available online to assist the public. Not even the simplest information is available on the County's website. The Cape County Recorder's office can do better and will do better than this under my leadership.

Question 2: What can be done to make the recorder's office function more effectively?

Answer: Streamlining the process of accessing information would be a major concern of mine. I also believe that the Recorder of Deeds office is a service to the citizens of the County. I believe that any citizen walking into the Recorder of Deeds office should be greeted with a smile and shown respect. The Recorder of Deeds is a public office and should cater to the needs of the citizens in a friendly and professional manner.

Question 3: What in your background or education makes you more qualified to be recorder of deeds than your opponents?

Answer: I have the experience and background necessary to do the job. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations. As a Realtor, I'm familiar with property deeds and have dealt with the Recorder's office on many occasions. I have the type of real life experience which proves I am capable of accomplishing whatever tasks are presented to me. I am goal oriented and work well with the public.

Question 4: How important is experience to operating the recorder's office?

Answer: My life experiences, education, and practical experience all combine to make me well qualified to operate the Recorder's office. I understand the importance of customer service and technological advances. I believe my dedication, positive attitude and excellent work ethic will assist me as I make the transition into the Recorder of Deeds office.

Closing remarks: I have received such an outpouring of support as I have campaigned throughout Cape Girardeau County. The citizens of this County are ready for a transition within the Recorder's office. I believe that I possess many positive attributes which would apply to the position of Recorder of Deeds. My zealous energies, positive attitude, work ethic, and moral values will serve me well in the Recorder's office. I thank you for your vote on August 3rd.
