Question 1: What are the strengths and weaknesses of the circuit clerk's office in Bollinger County?

Answer: The current staff has a combined 45 years of experience. We are all very dedicated to keeping the work load up to standards and greeting the public in a professional manner. Due to the economy and budget cuts it affects the office in material matters not seen by the public. Which is happening to many businesses.

Question 2: What will be your policy on providing information to the media?

Answer: The public has more access to the court proceedings due to the Sunshine Law and via website case.net. Still, with the legislation passing and changing laws some of the information is confidential and closed to the public. The office will follow the requirements of the state.

Question 3: Is there currently good communication among the sheriff and police departments, the circuit court and the judges? What, if anything, could be improved?

Answer: Currently there is very good communication between the court staff and sheriff's dept. This is necessary to get the work done. We have to keep an open mind and be willing to accept each others opinions and suggestions to make each other's jobs as efficient as possible. Issuing, serving and returning papers is a must for many court proceedings. I feel we are doing a good job.

Closing remarks: This job is high stress and requires multitasking skills. I do this on a daily basis as Associate Clerk. I am hard working, dependable. I have received clean audit reports of the finances which is one of my current responsibilities. This year's receipts for the first 6 months have been in access of $150,000.00. I would like the opportunity to work for the citizens of Bollinger Co as the next elected Circuit Clerk.
