What is the most important issue facing Jackson Public Schools?

Receiving adequate funding from the state of Missouri to maintain our current programs for the students. The state economy is down and this could impact the school funding formula in the near term. This could affect class size if the formula is inadequately funded.

What in your education or background makes you qualified for this office?

I have been involved in many community organizations over the past 20 years and want to do whatever I can to help the community and our school system grow and prosper. My background as a business owner helps me with the budgeting process of the district. I am a graduate of Jackson High School and have an MBA from Southeast Missouri State University.

Why are you better qualified than your opponent(s)?

Each candidate brings their own unique talents and background to the board. My include working hand in hand with the community leaders and the community at large to maintain and promote education.

What is your opinion of how the school construction project has proceeded?

The construction project has had a number of weather-related and other setbacks. It would have been nice to be able to utilize the new addition sooner. The first phase of the project should be completed in the next 30 days.
