Advanced Dermatology aims to fill underserved need in region

In addition to traditional dermatology care, Dr. Charles Moon also offers general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology to all ages.

Advanced Dermatology of Southeast Missouri is a new medical practice in Cape Girardeau, currently accepting patients. It is owned by Charles Moon, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist with over 10 years of experience.

Located at 1359 N. Mount Auburn Road, the clinic opened its doors in November 2009. Dr. Moon chose to come to Cape Girardeau to fill an underserved need for dermatology care he sees in the area and to be closer to family.

Dr. Moon, a board-certified dermatologist and fellow on the American Academy of Dermatology, provides comprehensive general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology care to all ages. Another focus and passion of Dr. Moon's is the treatment and prevention of skin cancer.

Dr. Moon's achievements and awards include: an American Academy of Dermatology Continuing Medical Education Award, service as president of the Kentucky Dermatology Association, membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and a Bronze Star for service in the U.S. Army while deployed to Iraq.
