A good cause: Signature chefs auction

Signature Chefs Auction is a dinner auction that pays tribute to the culinary excellence of local chefs, restaurants and caterers while raising money to give babies a healthy start in life. For the second year, top chefs from various dining establishments will donate their time and talents to prepare a gourmet sampling reception of their unique specialties. A silent auction will be held during the sampling. The gourmet sampling is followed by a live auction, which includes signature dining and entertainment packages of varying sizes, styles and themes.

The event raised $15,000 and attracted more than 100 guests in 2009. The Signature Chefs Auction provides valuable funds for the March of Dimes Campaign for Healthier Babies which supports research, advocacy, community services, programs, and education into the cause and prevention of birth defects, premature births, and infant deaths.
