HIS TYPICAL DAY:
I begin work at 6:30 a.m. by checking the status of the building (temperatures) and supervising the beginning of the school day. I then spend the better portion of my morning dealing with the following issues: discipline students who are sent down the office, counsel students who are struggling with relationships and life events, coordinate repairs and issues with building maintenance, advise faculty on how to handle difficult situations with students in the classroom, contact parents about a variety of issues in which they can assist with, and attempt to find time to observe classrooms. During lunch, I spend most of my time supervising the exterior of the campus with our school resource officer. After lunch, I attempt to squeeze as much of the above listed material in as possible, as well as catching up on e-mail from throughout the day. I usually conclude my workday in the office around 5:30 p.m. If we have an activity or event that night, depending on if it is a home or away event, I will finally return home between 9:30 and 11 p.m.
MOST SATISFYING PART OF HIS WORK:
Helping individuals to make positive decisions in their lives and assisting students who have made poor choices.
HIS WORST HAIRCUT:
Flat-top
HIS FAVORITE SONG FROM THE '80s:
"You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi
HIS BIGGEST FIRST-DAY BLOOPER:
Assuming that a student would make an appropriate and heartfelt apology to a faculty member and they didn't, which only made matters worse.
HIS MOST EMBARASSING WORK MOMENT:
Calling the wrong parent and telling them that their child was being sent home from school.
