Wissehr-McLain

Laura R. Wissehr and Shawn M. McLain announce their engagement. She is the daughter of David Wissehr of Zalma, Mo., and Cathy Wissehr of Columbia, Mo. McLain is the son of Randy and Kathy McLain of Cape Girardeau.

Wissehr is a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in December. She will begin work in January at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.

McLain is a 2001 graduate of Notre Dame High School, and received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Southeast Missouri State University in May. He is employed at the law firm of Carter Bauer Soule, LLC, in Clayton, Mo.

A Jan. 7 wedding is planned in Columbia.
