Cheney is a 2004 graduate of Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Mo. He is a 2011 graduate of Penn Valley Community College and 2013 graduate of Kansas City Police Academy. He is a public service employee in the Kansas City area, and is an active member of Air National Guard.
A Sept. 28 wedding is planned in Kansas City.
