Van Es-Wasson

Jan Van Es of Cape Girardeau announces the engagement of her daughter, Sarah Van Es, to Shawn Wasson. He is the son of Mary Lewis of Cape Girardeau.

Van Es is a graduate of Zalma High School in Zalma, Mo. She received a bachelor of science degree in history from College of the Ozarks in 2004. She is employed at Pulmonary Solutions in Cape Girardeau.

Wasson is a graduate of Ritenour High School in Overland, Mo. He received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1991, master of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1994, and a doctor of ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., in 2005. Wasson is senior pastor at Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

An Oct. 6 wedding is planned.
