Vallero - welker

John and Cheryl Vallero of Smithton, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Nicole Vallero, to Justin Patrick Welker. He is the son of Jim and Terri Welker of Cape Girardeau.

Vallero is a 2003 graduate of Freeburg Community High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2007. She is a second grade teacher with Cape Girardeau School District at Franklin Elementary.

Welker is a 2001 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in secondary education from Central Missouri State University in 2005. He is a sales representative with Medtronic Spine and Biologies.

A Nov. 15 wedding is planned in Fairview Heights, Ill.
