Upchurch - Perez

Laure Upchurch of Jackson and Richard Upchurch of St. Louis announce the engagement of their daughter, Erika Shea Upchurch, to Francisco Javier Perez. He is the son of Gloria Perez of Houston, Texas, and the late Javier Perez, both originally from Venezuela.

Upchurch is a 2003 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor's degree in business administration, with emphasis in integrated marketing communications, from Southeast Missouri State University in 2008. She is a personal banker at US Bank in Cape Girardeau.

Perez is a 2004 graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School in Miami, Fla. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration, with emphasis in international business and economics, from Southeast in 2008. He expects to receive a master's degree in finance from the university in May 2010. He is a graduate student in the financial aid department at the university.

A Jan. 2, 2010, wedding is planned at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson.
