Benjamin Mark and Violet Jo Tally of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Tally, to Dewayne McAlister Jr. He is the son of Dewayne and Lana Jean McAlister of Cape Girardeau. Benjamin Mark and Violet Jo Tally of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Tally, to Dewayne McAlister Jr. He is the son of Dewayne and Lana Jean McAlister of Cape Girardeau.

Tally is a 1995 graduate of Central High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Southeast Missouri State University in 2000. She is employed at Medicap Pharmacy.

McAlister is a 1998 graduate of Chaffee High School in Chaffee, Mo. He is employed with McAlister Tree Service in Cape Girardeau and with Kenny Smith Basketball Camp in Chapel Hill, N.C.

A May 27 wedding is planned at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
