Strattman-Burner

Lawrence and Carol Strattman of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Layne Alicia Strattman, to Thomas Shadley Burner. He is the son of Clifford and Karen Burner of Bernie, Mo.

Strattman is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She received a degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. She is employed by Shawnee School District at Shawnee North in Grand Tower, Ill.

Burner is a 2001 graduate of Bernie High School. He received a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Southeast in 2006. He is pursuing a master's degree in higher education administration. He is employed by the university as coordinator of marketing with the University Foundation.

A June 16 wedding is planned at St. Mary's Cathedral.
