Susan Stein and Don Beard announce their engagement. She is the daughter of the late Oscar Stein and LaVerne Stein. He is the son of Ella Beard and the late Kenneth Beard.

Stein received a master's degree in public administration from Southeast Missouri State University. She is an eligibility specialist with state of Missouri.

Beard is a graduate of Jackson High School. He is employed by Associated Sheet Metal Inc. in Jackson.

An April 27 wedding is planned at Connection Point Church in Jackson.
