JACKSON, Mo. -- Rulen and Darlene Spies of Lowndes, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Spies-Lyle, to Paul Hanner Jr., both of Jackson.

Spies-Lyle expects to receive a bachelor of science degree in industrial and engineering technology technical graphics from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2002.
