Shelby-Ticer

Mitch and Karen Shelby of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Jodie Lynn Shelby, to Eric Norman Ticer. He is the son of Carol and Dewaine Smith of Cape Girardeau and Norman and Connie Ticer of Kelso, Mo.

Shelby is a 1997 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2001, and a master's degree in education from William Woods University in 2005. She is a second grade teacher with Jackson School District.

Ticer is a 1996 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast in 2002. He is a registered nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center.

A June 10 wedding is planned at Grace United Methodist Church.
