Schirmer -- LaRose

Kenneth and Tina Schirmer of Altenburg, Missouri, announce the engagement of their daughter, MaKenzie Sue, to Ryan David LaRose, both of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of David and Holly LaRose and Don and Brenda Hicks, all of Cape Girardeau.

MaKenzie is a 2009 graduate of Perryville High School and received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in St. Louis in 2012. She is a registered nurse at SoutheastHEALTH in the Cardiac Cath Lab and is pursuing a master's degree in nursing to become a family nurse practitioner.

Ryan is a 2001 graduate of Cape Central High School and graduated from Southeast Missouri State Law Enforcement Academy in 2007. He works at SoutheastHEALTH in hospital security.

An April 23 wedding is planned at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
