Scherer--Ampie

Dennis and Sharon Scherer of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Tonya Marie Scherer, to Ron Ampie, both of Lake Forest, California. He is the son of Andy and Cha-oom Ampie, originally from Thailand, now residing in Beaumont, California.

Tonya is a graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Southeast Missouri State University. She completed her juris doctorate at the University of Missouri -- Columbia and is a licensed attorney in the state of Missouri. Tonya is the chief of staff for loandepot.com LLC.

Ron is a graduate of Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, California, and received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of California -- Irvine. Ron is a loss prevention officer at First American Title Insurance Company.

An early 2016 wedding is planned.
