Schaefer - Mumiukha

Ron and Patty Schaefer of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Jane Schaefer of Memphis, Tenn., to Francis Mumelo Wanjoya Mumiukha of McKenzie, Tenn. He is the son of Pius and Anne Mumiukha of Egerton, Kenya.

Schaefer received a bachelor of science degree in exercise science: athletic training and master of science degree in human development and leadership in college student personnel from Murray State University in Murray, Ky. She is pursuing a doctorate of education in leadership in higher education at the University of Memphis, and is a graduate assistant in the Department of Leadership.

Mumiukha received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and a master of arts degree in education from Bethel University in McKenzie. He is assistant housing director at Bethel University, and is a teacher in the mathematics department.

A Jan 1, 2011, wedding is planned at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, Mo.
