Scannell-Brune

Keith and Bert Scannell of Swansea, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Anne Scannell, to Robert Jonathan Brune. He is the son of Greg and Barbara Brune of Cape Girardeau.

Scannell is a 2000 graduate of Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, Ill. She received a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005. She is a second grade teacher with Jackson School District.

Brune is a 1997 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in sports management from Southeast in 2002, and a master of arts degree in higher education from Southeast in 2004. He is coordinator of marketing and promotions for the athletic department at the university.

A Nov. 25 wedding is planned in Belleville.
