Ruiz - Helman

CAIRO, Ill. -- Joe and Dolly Ruiz of Cairo announce the engagement of their daughter, Leslie Ann Ruiz, to Robert Cole Helman. He is the son of Debra Helman of Villa Ridge, Ill., and the late Paul Helman.

Ruiz is a 2003 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau. She is a 2007 graduate of Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky., and expects to receive a doctor of physical therapy in December from Bellarmine.

Helman is a 2003 graduate of Meridian High School in Mounds, Ill. He is part owner of Boar Creek Valley Farms, LLC.

A Jan. 10, 2009, wedding is planned at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo.
