Proffer-Schwendinger

Joseph and Marilyn Gilmore of Cape Girardeau and Frank and Theresa Proffer of Sikeston, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Renee Marie Proffer, to Scott Brendon Schwendinger. He is the son of Gary and Linda Schwendinger of Chesterfield, Mo.

Proffer is a 1995 graduate of Oran High School at Oran, Mo., and is a 2000 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She completed a dietetic internship in 2001. She is a clinical dietitian at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.

Schwendinger is a 1993 graduate of Lafayette High School in Chesterfield, and a 2000 graduate of Southeast University. He is an investment representative with Edward Jones in St. Louis.

A beach wedding is planned May 17 at Sanibel Island, Fla.
