Pablo Mendez - Brotherton

Urbano Pablo Fernandez and Maria Concepcion Mendez Galan of El Hoyo de Pinares, Avila, Spain, announce the engagement of their daughter, Maria Pablo Mendez, to Philip Michael Brotherton. He is the son of Robert and Mary Brotherton of Cape Girardeau.

Maria received a bachelor's degree in elementary education and master's degree in educational psychology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Madrid, Spain, in 2011.

Philip is a 2006 graduate of Central High School. He is a 2010 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and has studied in graduate programs at Washington University and the University of Missouri in St. Louis. He is a K-5 music teacher at The Spanish School, part of the St. Louis Language Immersion Schools.

An April 12 wedding is planned in Cape Girardeau.
