John and Carolyn O'Malley of Belleville, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Elise O'Malley of Cape Girardeau, to Daniel Eugene Shackles II. He is the son of Danny and Sharon Shackles of Sikeston, Mo., and Bob and Maria Cogar of Ossian, Ind.
O'Malley received a bachelor of science degree in nursing and psychology from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a registered nurse at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Shackles is a graduate of Sikeston High School. He is dispatch supervisor with Industrial transport.
A May 30 wedding is planned in Caseyville, Ill.
