Melba Steinbach of Cape Girardeau announces the engagement of her daughter, Pamela Jean McQuay, to David Phillip Grimes. He is the son of the late Alfred Grimes of Chicago, Laverne Grimes of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Marilouise Grimes of Denver, Colo.

McQuay is a progressive cardiac care nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Grimes received a master's degree in history from Southeast Missouri State University. He is a regional planner with Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission.

An Aug. 8 wedding is planned at Rose Bed Inn.
