McClendon-Whaley

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dean of Bernie, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sherry McClendon of Puxico, Mo., to Phillip Whaley. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Whaley of Jackson.

McClendon is a graduate of Bernie High School. She is employed by Stoddard County Family Services in Bloomfield, Mo.

Whaley is a graduate of Jackson High School and Linn State Technical College at Linn, Mo. He is a heavy equipment operator with Pace Construction in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

An Oct. 4 wedding is planned at the General Baptist Church in Bernie.
