Leimer received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in December 2012. She is a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

Kasinger received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the university in May 2011. He is employed with Burns and McDonnell, an engineering consulting firm headquartered in Kansas City.
A May 18, 2013, wedding is planned at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
