Conley and Dee Laster of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Nicole Laster of Kelso, Mo., to Robert Glenn Gill Jr. of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Glenn and Marie Gill of Portageville, Mo.

Laster is a 2001 graduate of Kelly High School. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. She is a third grade teacher at Scott County Central.

Gill is a 2001 graduate of Portageville High School. He received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Southeast in 2009. He is a mobile electronics specialist with Auto Trim Design.

A Nov. 13 wedding is planned at Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
