Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Jackson of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Ashley Jackson, to Clay Benton Tummins. Jackson is a 2004 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor's degree in health management from Southeast Missouri State University in 2008. She is employed at Health Point Rehab.

Tummins is a 2004 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Southeast University in 2008. He is a registered nurse at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

An Oct. 23 wedding is planned at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
