Connie Dotten of Van Buren, Mo., and Stanley Hueckel of Dexter, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Hueckel, to Nathaniel Brink, both of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Ken and Gail Brink of Perryville, Mo.

Hueckel is a 1996 graduate of Richland High School. She received a master of education in instructional technology from American InterContinental University.

Brink is a 2001 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau. He received a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005.

An Oct. 14 wedding is planned at La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
