Hoeflinger -- Young

Paul and Erica Hoeflinger of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Renee Hoeflinger, to James Richard Young Jr., both of Springfield, Missouri. He is the son of James Richard Young of Branson, Missouri, and the late Delle Young.

Amanda is a 2000 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She received a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield in 2004 and received her Associate of Nursing from Southwest Baptist University in 2007. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Central Missouri and is scheduled to graduate in May 2017. She is a nurse in the NICU at St. Johns/Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

James is a 1992 graduate of Watson Chapel High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and a 1996 graduate of East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. He works at kWh Smart Consulting LLC in Springfield; Newton, Kansas; and Little Rock, Arkansas.

An Oct. 15 wedding is planned at Old Towne Event Center in Republic, Missouri.
