Hesse- McNew

Don and Carol Hesse of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Shannon Hesse, to Corey Shane McNew. He is the son of Ivan and Liz McNew Jr. of Sikeston, Mo.

Hesse is a 1990 graduate of Sikeston High School. She received a master of natural science in biology from Southeast Missouri State University in 1998. She is a microbiologist at Environment Analysis South Inc. in Jackson, Mo. She is also an adjunct faculty member in the biology department at Southeast University.

McNew is a 1991 graduate of Sikeston High School, and attended Southeast University. He is sales manager at Sabona of London Inc. in Sikeston.

A July 20 wedding is planned at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo.
